An actual picture of YOUR home would be helpful, as well as a sketch that shows measurements of your space :)

That room is not your room, and "similar" is not same.. Measure YOUR room, draw your room,add your room dimensions with walls, windows and doors etc, in inches.

Assuming you don't now sit on the floor, what is YOUR furniture ?

If it is a long, narrow room, you might consider dividing it into 2 "rooms", with the door the dividing point.

an option could be to place a set of seating to view tv & another informal set behind for lounging/reading etc..

if possible shifting tv point to more appropriate position might help
