Debra, now that I have a Z, Zuzu’s Treasure, I can testify to its vigor here. This is five weeks after being planted in my garden, look close, it added a fan already.

I have only 2 Y's.

Yauhannah Lake is a great grower.

Yuma is an oldie that Bob likes. I am not wild about the color. It blooms later after the others are mostly done.

Yellow Monkey, which I suspect most of us that have it was due to Edward's many wonderful pictures and rave reviews. It was my first year. Only a few flowers, but I look forward to it exploding in the future.

I will have to find last year’s picture of Yazoo Elsie Hintson-I dug in it so much last year it produced puny blooms but is worthy to be recognized.

Sherry: I'll miss the smile I got from your sayings along with the daylilies. Thanks for running another smooth operation this year................I always enjoy seeing Yellow Monkey. Edward really made an impression on us many years back when he showed how great it looked in his garden. From everyone else's pictures of it now, I'd say his was a true statement of how it looks. Glowing bright sunny yellow. Just my color........Celeste: Your Yellow Satellite is a glowing sunny yellow too but in my kind of rounded form. Luscious...... Nan: Yuma looks good as a yellow too, but does it have an orange/brown cast to it? ........Debra: I love the pink color on Zuzu's Treasure. There's all kinds of pinks of course, and Zuzu has a shade I really like. Good show (and thanks mucho for a "Z" in the alphabet)..............Maryl

Maryl, Yuma does have what I call a 'rusty overlay' to it. I'm generally not a fan of that. I would prefer my yellow to be pure.

Outside of a polychrome yellow I had years ago that I loved (Frequent Comment), I tend to stick to pure yellow myself..............I did find a picture of one of my oldest and dearest daylilies. It was actually recommended as a good true pink by someone on this forum almost 2 decades ago when what was then called pink was mostly salmon pink. A marvelous color for its day and time. It has been a prolific and hardy bloomer for me ever since. It will stay with me to the very last day I can garden. It has earned its keep.

Maryl, I am so glad you posted Yesterday Memories-it is one I had years and years ago. I loved it for all the reasons you listed. It was in a back bed that bordered some pasture land we rent to a neighbor cattle rancher. One day I came home to see that he had clipped part of that bed with a disc while he was sowing some grass seed. Several of my lilies were ground into bits and this was one of them. Of course it was an accident and he did not even know it until later. They were all older lilies and I did not replace them but I think about Yesterday Memories and how pretty it was when you post yours!!

Thanks Kate for the interesting comments on YM. It's too bad when perfectly wonderful daylilies pass out of commerce just because they are old. I passed Yesterday Memories on to a gardening friend a few years back and told her to share it with anyone she can to keep it going on. She quickly fell in love with it and for a bonus, it rebloomed for her. Can you imagine a reblooming YM? I am sorry you lost yours. There's lots of old yellows still out there, but very few true pinks with YM's merits. I'll get off my soapbox now-lol .................Maryl

Yes, Debra I still have Yesterday Memories. Since I don't hybridize I've never really looked at the "children" of Yesterday Memories on the database until this year. I see Stamile used her quite a bit. That would make sense since Stamile is famous for their true pink daylilies. I originally was looking for a pink in a daylily that would blend with my pink roses. Daylily pink and rose pink are not the same, but Yesterday Memories is as close as I could come to the same pink tones as what a rose can have...................Maryl
