I'm sorry for the confusion. All three pictures are of Baronne Henriette de Snoy and William R. Smith, but the last photo was taken with the dining room lights on. It really changes the color of the roses quite a bit, from cool to warm.

So glad you all like the blue wall paint. I was feeling a 90's vibe with the red toward the end, and I do believe the overall lighter coloring is a mood lifter. I'm not much into trends but there does seem to be a shift in colors and patterns every ten years or so, and I will incorporate some new things if they fit with my style. Of course antique Chinese porcelain and old roses will never go out of style; they are eternally beautiful.

Everybody has already said it. I like the blue walls, too, and of course your furnishings are lovely. I hope you and your husband are doing well, or at least holdiing up.

Our Teas are leafing out now, and their foliage is as delicately beautiful as the flowers to come. 'Sanguinea' is a sight. Pity everything is a month ahead of schedule, but I'm enjoying it.

Hello Ingrid! I also really like the new color in your pretty dining room...and of course, love the roses. I have Baronne Henriette de Snoy in my garden and it's doing very well (even up here in the much cooler PNW)...but I don't have William R Smith, although I've heard many tea lovers sing his praises. I may have to break down and try it!

My Baronne was purchased because of your gorgeous rose and I put her in one of my hottest spots-I know she won’t be as stunning as yours but I’m just hoping for some pretty blooms and a nice shaped plant.

Oh, and I also loved the walls...the soft shading blends so well without your outside garden choices :)

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments; it is such a pleasure to see all the familiar names. BHdS is a medium pink outside with a touch of coral. After some years in the ground the bloom is more of a deep cup shape than it was in former years, at least until it opens up completely. It's a chunky bush with large leaves, not what I would call beautiful, I'm afraid. Rosylady, I know it's a matter of personal taste but I'm not as fond of this William R. Smith as I was of the previous one I had which did not have the color changes from light to dark as this one does. One wonders which one is the genuine article and which the impostor.

My physical condition continues to worsen but as long as I can stagger outside to feed the birds and critters it's all good.

Your new dining room looks wonderful, Ingrid. It's nice to see you posting again. I, too, like the blue walls and the color coordinates well with the chairs and chandelier. The roses look divine, so beautiful. Sorry to hear that your health has been worsening, I hope your garden will continue to bring you joy.

I wasn't aware their were two different cultivators Ingrid. I hope mine is a good one. I got it from RU. What's the difference?

Beautiful roses . i also thought perhaps you got a new rose. Lighting can definitely play a major role here. Definitely fool me :))
