@Dave in NoVA • N. Virginia • zone 7A, it's planted in ground, and I had this tree for about 10 years. It's been very prolific, and the fruits are crazy juicy and sweet every year. This in San Diego, and we had unusually heavy rain last year, and this winter, we've had some roller-coaster weather like 40s one day and in the 80s next day. I wonder if the tree is confused. I hope this tree will bear good fruits this year.

You still might get plenty of fruit.

Yeah it's looks like they were trying to open and they were stunted. Hopefully you still get a good crop. Maybe someone who has seen this before will stop in.

All the best! You didn't spray it with anything, did you? Or did a neighbor do any spraying that drifted over?

If you have had a lot of rain mixed with a very dense bloom, it could be anthracnose... a light copper spray would help; but these flowers are beyond help

It looks like it was exposed to sort of chemical (like glyphosate).

I have figured it out! It was Citrus Bud Mite.

This is photo shows one of the affected fruits. Now I know why I sometimes get limes with a mohawk or a tail!
