Curious how much space your fruit forest is? I imagine a pretty decent 1/4 acre or more of citrus? Fishing is a slightly better hobby, because you don't get an endorphin rush from harvesting a big Moro.

I wish I had the ability to put in ground citrus, I guess the positive side to being in inhospitable zone is that I'll probably never have to deal with greening. It would be bad if virginia/maryland and oregon/washington became the citrus producers.

Nice, I use the half barrels for peppers and tomatoes on my patio. I guess you're using the barrels to control tree size rather, since I assume you aren't moving them in for cold weather?

No they stay outside all year and it gets around 30-32 a few times during winter . I’m controlling size so I can have more varieties. I’m happy with around 50-75 fruit per tree as my goal with citrus. I now have my gold nugget, Moro and Cara Cara in the ground so I might let those get around 8 foot at the tallest . I keep my plum, nectarines, peaches and pluot in the ground at 6-7 feet and they give me 200-300 fruit easily each season .

I try and by all my fruit trees , berries , grapes at the locally owned nurseries in my area. I have bought a few from Costco and Home Depot but that is the exception not the rule . 😎

I just picked up my Tango and transplanted it. Its a nice 4 foot tree Reg $74 and they gave me 20% off since I'm such a good customer :)
