I like something a bit warmer in a basement so I have dri-core with vinyl plank on top. You can do some pretty industrial looking vinyl floors like Manhattan from Mannington if you want that look.I have used it in a couple of clients homes and it is quite nice looking.

I did metallic epoxy in my basement and am very happy with it. It is warmer underfoot than tile or stained concrete. Mine doesn’t have the chips that make it look like a garage.

We had our family room concrete floor done several years ago. It has epoxy over the concrete slab. We wanted some movement and texture. We love it. We have dogs and a pool. This floor is so easy to keep clean.

Keeping it smooth will make for easier cleaning.
