All white?

We're in love with our Northern California home and the older, non-stucco style. It was built in 1984. But we don't like the exterior paint scheme at all (there when we bought the house just over a year ago.) I don't know quite what to call the style; Ranch, Victorian, Farm. But that doesn't largely matter. It's got great bones and we're enjoying our remodel right now.

We're thinking of going to an all-white exterior scheme, adding working shutters with darker, complimentary colors, and rendering a Coastal or Plantation feel for the home. Here's an ideabook I've been collecting on this theme: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/15278659/thumbs/Exterior-Paint

I also thought some Bermuda shutters on the back of the home would look great, and would help us reduce some energy costs.

The reddish-brown roof is an unfortunate limitation, but we cannot justify changing that right now; it's got at least 10 years left.

What are your thoughts on an all white theme? Or alternatives?

This will be really unique in California, but we like that. We've traveled and lived in a lot of places, and that influences our desire to do something a bit different.

Thank you..
