The floors in the photo look to be finished with a white wash or 'limed' finish. That's fine. You want to work with WATER BASED finishes.

Bona Nordic Seal (is a sealant AND adds some white tone to the wood) together with Bona Traffic HD in a low gloss will give you the look as the floors in your inspiration photo.

Make sure your WELL PAID professional wood flooring expert has extensive knowledge of Bona products.

Do NOT let him/her talk you into something cheaper like an oil based or oil modified product. Those products will AMBER almost immediately = not what you want.

Talk to your refinisher and ask them to put down sample swatches of Nordic Seal (one coat vs. two) AND a single coat of the Bona Traffic HD. You then choose which option you like best.

Our 34 year old white ash floors were just coated with poly. They were never stained. They are " natural". Isn't that what you would like?

I think natural floors are gorgeous.
