The light is going to be more for the look rather than the function. We have recessed lighting for the needed light.

Ah, ok, How far above the sink is the ceiling at that point?

56". We have 92" ceilings.

It’s much smaller. We were looking at wider ones but decided not to block the view from the window so much. We will have a valance curtain ( I made it) across the top of the window which will be the main visual:

Here's a little schematic....it ought to work - the pendant is far away enough that a person wouldn't bonk their head on it. It's to scale but I wouldn't depend on accuracy too much, ha ha.

The kitchen will be a blend of MCM and Mission look. The cabinets are a hickory shaker with black hardware. The countertops are a quartz that looks like poured concrete. Would love any input from anyone here! I don't like a real formal look.
