Hi. We are doing a major renovation of our home and part of that is redoing the existing kitchen basically from scratch - the existing kitchen cabinetry and appliances are being moved over to an addition. I think we are generally happy with the initial design that was put together. However, we wanted to get some feedback on the design and as well we are thinking about making some changes and were interested in thoughts on those.

For background, the drawings are attached. In terms of changes:

1. On the appliance side, (a) the drawings show a 36" fridge but we are going to get a 48", (b) the stove is also shown as 36" but we are going with a ~56" one, and (c) we want to add a built-in microwave. The larger fridge and stove I marked-out in red.

2. Originally, we were going to do 2 built-in pantry closets - labeled in blue as (A) on the drawing. We are now thinking of doing cabinets there (one a baking station, the other a coffee/breakfast station perhaps) and converting an existing broom/coat closet (labeled (C) - I realize I missed the "B"...oops!) to a pantry.

I also tried to go through the FAQs as best I could and here is a bunch of additional info which may (or may not!) help

• Goals: The primary goal is to create more storage and counter space. We utilize our garage currently for a lot of spillover for pantry as well as second fridge and freezer. We want to eliminate all that and bring it closer to the kitchen but also keep a good amount of counter space.
• Family composition: 2 Adults, 2 children age 1 and 5
• Kitchen workers: 1 cook usually, 2 (really 1 cook and 1 baker) for a holiday or special occasion. 1 or 2 for cleanup.
• Cooks: 1 serious cook/baker and 1 moderately serious baker
• How kitchen used: primarily cooking/cleaning up and children doing something while someone is cooking
• Entertaining: infrequent (holidays and special occasions) and informal
• Do you want your kitchen to be a "hang out" place? Yes
• Dining room: We have a separate DR and it is used infrequently. No desire to use it more frequently
• Would you like to open up the kitchen to adjacent areas? Close it up? No opinion
• Do you plan to merge two rooms/areas (e.g., Nook and Kitchen into a Kitchen only) No
• Do you have a basement under the Kitchen space? Yes
• Where are you flexible?
  -- Can windows or doorways change size? Yes
  -- Can windows or doorways be moved or eliminated? Yes
  -- Can windows be raised/lowered? Yes
  -- Does the sink have to be centered under a window? No
  -- Does it have to be under a window at all? No
