Are there any pros or cons for a spillover into the pool? A few smaller scuppers or a single waterfall? Maintenance or performance?

no, there is no pros or cons to the spillover for a raised spa. it is for looks only on a raised spa. however, when the spa is off and the pool is running there must be a way for the spa water to overflow into the pool. this installation, due to the automatic safety cover, has that feature within the wall of the spa and pool
