we had a similar issue a few years back. you can have identify the 'look' you would like and have the contractor replace the pieces that don't meet that criteria. we were much happier once this was completed. Good luck!

I love your floors. Are they real wood? That variation is what makes it look real, if it’s not. It’ll be better once you’ve got furniture and area rugs down. Don’t sweat it.

Your floors are beautiful! I like the different shades in the flooring! I, too, think once you furnish the house the variations won't stand out.

I think they're pretty-will there be a stain or sealer on them? Maybe once you get paint on the walls, furniture in the rooms, the floors will not be so noticeable to you?

Also, the wires coming out of the side of the wall--I was so focused on the floors, my peripherals thought it was a humongous spider.

Are the floors finished? Or are they raw? What were you hoping for? Do you have inspiration pics?

Teak is an exciting wood with plenty of variation called movement. Without knowing the grade you purchased, it is hard to say whether or not you got what you paid for.

Do you have the purchase order that says what grade and finish you purchased?

Many thanks for the comments and compliments. They made me happy and much more confident with the floor.

I might have overreacted. I expected a less busy floor. You may refer to the attached photo for the sample displayed in the shop. I understood they always choose the best pieces for display so I have lowered my expectations.

The floor is raw, we will have one time bleaching.

Indeed, the renovation is still ongoing, we still have to have the paint, furniture and even plants, they will take my attention away.

The wire on the wall is for electricity. We are expecting the electrician to visit us this week;)

We purchased the real teak from a shop, they have installers coming to install. I have invited the shop owner to visit us and have a discussion on the results. They still have to finish the skirting anyway.

Love your floors! The variation gives it character and beauty, but then again, I'm the one who put in hickory cabinets in the kitchen for its glorious variation and warmth.

Your floors are gorgeous! Much better than the sample IMO.

I like your floors much more than the samples, the samples do not look unique but your floor does. I hope the bleaching won’t lighten them too much.

today the shop owner came to our house to have a look. He explained that I should clean the floor with white soap and give it a few months to settle. The floor will blend in well.

Frankly i don't see how cleaning the floor with white soap will resolve the inconsistencies. Hopefully the shop owner was willing to make changes to some of the planks that you were not happy with at some point in time.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking to give it a chance to blend in and see if I really want them to be changed. My husband is reluctant to made any alterations on the floor as it is well installed. The distance between them is very small, seems to me like 2mm, if we make changes, it might be visible.

I love the floors. And oh WOW to the tile in the bathroom(?). That looks great.

While I agree that it is very different from the sample, they really are beautiful looking floors. I even prefer them over the sample. Maybe it will turn into a good thing & you will grow to love them once you start the décor process!

With positive comments from you guys, I am much more confident. Hereby I also attached bathroom work in progress photo. I was quite worried about the results but it turned out to be ok.
