Thank you Lisa. You're right, it does flow. The last thing I want is for it to look choppy.

It does not look the best to put a tile backsplash on top of the short splash that matches the counter. If that short splash is part of the counter, I would leave it as is. If you are thinking of new counters at some point, then wait as backsplash comes after counters. I am not suggesting you need new counters - the ones you have look very pretty, but it is difficult to make an older backsplash work with new counters - often a gap or doesn't work with the colors.

It looks very nice just the way it is. I do suggest adding handles or knobs to the cabinets, as they add a touch of glam. But I adore your spotted pup.
