My lawncare company hit my mailbox with their truck and destroyed the post. After removing the damaged post, I found a 6" metal post sticking up out of the ground. This post is 2 3/4" square. It had been shimmed out (wood) to firmly attach the pretty heavy-duty metal post. Most of the mailboxes I'm finding are expecting that 4x4 post and I presume they'd want a much taller post as well.

Anyone seen something like this? Trying to avoid digging up that old post.
