I have no problem to pick varieties that ripen at the same time by January first, like 3 varieties but have a total of say 16 or 18 tree’s. That Page mandarin tree had fruits up to January first in the growroom at 65*, moved to the garage, I unheated, now outside going on for 3 weeks. No leave loss. If all my tree’s are like that, it would easier to managed.

Bob, I'm kinda opposite as I'm looking to spread harvest from late Oct to early april. So, I'm looking to add a Miho and a golden nugget (to cover those two bookend months). Of course, I only have a single tree per variant - except, I'm trying to create a fruit cocktail tree once I get a set of variants that I like.

Ken, I am already there, having many varieties. I went the road with apples, stone fruits, persimmon, paw paw, fig, now citrus. When you accumulate too many varieties of each, just to find out that many taste the same or close to it.

I am just making things easier for me to take care of. Most of you are much younger and doing the route I did, nothing wrong with that, there are lots of stuff available when you participate in forums. Go fullbore!!
