Feature Wall Dilemma

Hello Houzzers,

We have recently painted our family room Edgecomb Grey(BM). We are considering how to incorporate a feature wall to the wall with the window. This wall is 25 feet long and we are debating using vinyl planking placed horizontally or perhaps painting the wall to give this room a cozier feel. We will be replacing all furniture except the sofa table and the pool table. We are wondering if you would give us advice as to how to complete this. I will post pictures of the room and the vinyl planking. All thots and suggestions are welcome.

Are the ceiling lights on a dimmer? if not, install one.

No, ceiling lights are not on a dimmer. We have pot lights in the area and have them separated into different areas in the space.
We were thinking the barnwood wall would be overpowering and perhaps may date in a year or two. If we choose to paint, what colour would you suggest?

if you want to paint to avoid a fad, I would still go with darker color as in your inspiration room. It looks great behind the TV and easy on eyes while watching. its going to be an amazing room can’t wait to see your finished project
