Cozy space and I love your rug! I'd probable choose a brown or cognac colored leather club chair and ottoman. Maybe something with a slightly distressed look. I'd keep the furniture fairly neutral and add color with artwork (which should not be chosen because it matches anything, but because you love it).

For now, All I have in the office is my desk and printer stand. I’ve not chosen any artwork or other decor other than the rug, which I loved!!

I couldn’t decide if I should go with a bold chair color (and if so... which one!!) or with a grey one and use pillows and accessories to add the color.

He was a gray chair I had found before I began pondering a bold color.

I’m also searching for a storage cabinet/console of some sort for the right wall. Can’t decide if I should match the wood to my desk or do something different. Of course tying it into the sitting area. I’m just terrible at this sort of stuff and incredibly indecisive!

Love your rug. Chair and a half won’t work. Too big. Could you post the width (across) niche, and depth (front edge to back wall) measurements? Then we can size chair properly. Do same for basic room size. Post photos of current stuff even if messy. We can see beyond that. Thanks!

Width of sitting area is 71.5” and depth to wall is 57.5”. Depth to the rug edge/doorway is 74.5” (see photo for reference.
Overall office size is 10x19 ft.
There is 59” between the right wall and edge of desk.

I definitely love the idea of a bold color for the chair. Maybe the mustard in the rug.

You can choose your color combinations but I pulled colors from rug and gave it a smile with the art. This is all I would put here. Along that wall I would maybe do some floating shelves. That is walkway so might not want unit there. What is distance from that wall to desk extension? You need 3’ for comfortable walking space.

This is the wall I would use for a storage cabinet/buffet. I keep a significant amount of materials for my job that I need to store somewhere. Should be plenty of room between the desk extension and the wall as it’s 59” provided the item isn’t too wide.

Limit chair size to Approx 32x32. Pouff about 18” w x 18” high. Round table 12” wide. Floor reading lamp ticks beside chair.

Just ran across this piece. The website doesn’t show dimensions-duh. But I like the wood and dark look with diamond shaped handles. I think a long lower piece would help keep room open feeling. You could put floating shelves above.

That piece looks about 72” long by around 14” deep. But you would need to call and get info. It is from Ashley furniture.

Yes! Definitely want a long and shorter piece! I have such a hard time as I’m someone who always tries to match things perfectly when I know it’s not necessary.

I love that piece!! The way it brings both colors of wood together is perfect!

No. I think rug will need to be adjusted once furniture is determined. It might work to put partially in nook maybe angled just a bit. You don’t want furniture on it like desk and console. What is size of rug?

OK then you could put a storage unit no deeper than 18" I would suggest. Might find an Ikea one that suits your needs. Just depends on what type of storage you need. Paper/manuals, etc. I like ones with drawers. But you have to figure out your needs so it suits. Lots of products out there, budget is biggest issue. Ikea will be on the low end and everything else kind of goes up from there.

Houzz is acting up! Ok. I found more info on the Ashley Robin Ridge Accent Cabinet. It is indeed 72” long, 16” deep and 34” high. They also are having big sale. Reviews are quite good. One internal shelf on each side and can be moved or removed. So one side could be configured differently than the other side. Perfect!

Finally got the console put together and placed. Unfortunately, the rug won’t fit diagonally.

I’m doing some more updates do to a change at work. My desk is not big enough. Should I stay with the darker colored desk or bring in something like this?
