Help with a light beige!

last modified: 6 years ago

We are closing on and moving into a new home in 5 days. I’m having such a hard time choosing the main color, which will include our 2 story foyer, hallway that leads to main living area, and kitchen. I am deciding between SW Accessible Beige, SW Balanced Beige, and SW Loggia. I am looking for a warm, comfortable, homey feel that I wont get sick of ever (I currently have repose gray and I hate it). Please help! (The trim and the banister will be painted white)

All these paint colors are darker than what is currently on the walls of the house. Do you want that dark of a color?

This first color is neutral enough, but perhaps too dark for your new home.

This second color is just a NOW WAY. Too much red and too dark.

This third color IMO is still way too dark for the house.

Do yourself a favor and order samples from Samplize.com. If you select a beige that has too much red your new granite counters are going to appear very gold.

I am just starting to put Accessible Beige in my home and I really like it. Much lighter and less pink/red tones than the old beige I had. Much fresher look and feel.

Oh that’s good to hear! That’s my number 1 choice right now :) is it more beige, or gray?

@beverlyFLADeziner. Thank you! That’s what I was thinking too

Are there any other suggestions of a beautiful light beige by Sherwin Williams?

So far I have it in a small bath and entry hall between garage and back patio. It is more of a gray beige than pink/red beige - very neutral. And it looks much lighter in my space (which is on north side of the house) than it appears above in the samples. In a couple of weeks it will be in the kitchen and family room as well, so we'll know more then. I am very happy with the color.

Here is your Repose Gray compared to Agreeable Gray just too see how gray your paint color was.

I would have suggested something like Pale Oak from BM, but I tried to find a match from SW, however, this is the issue with SW, they often cannot match other manuf. colors because of the limitations of their system.

IMO you should be looking in the colored whites, not beige.

Yes we will only be painting the spindles. Oops lol. We get a huge discount from SW from a friend so unfortunately I’m limited 😢

SW Realist Beige. It's a light beautiful shade.

We just used Morning Ritual by Backdrop in my open concept living/dining room and it's looking really really nice. It's cozy but has a stone-like quality to it. You can order a sample from them and it comes in a big sticker you can put on the wall. If there's a formulation you prefer from another brand, you could always color match it.

I think pale oak would be too gray. You could do accessible beige at 75 percent. It is very pretty and relatively on The lighter side. I would test it first. Good luck

Since you have wide open spaces but not really high ceilings i would go as light as possible..and choose a color that is neutral enough to be interpreted as beige or gray to be more versatile for any decor colors you choose

Also avoid any golden undertones as that may look dated with all that golden wood...contrast is better

I have used SW Kilim Beige in several rooms in two homes, and it works with everything, is not dark, and has no undertones.

I am really liking that Realist Beige that yaya suggested. Will start a new thread .
