One of the most inspiring home tours to me personally that I've seen lately was one Architectural Digest did inside Nicole Scherzinger's Los Angeles home. I think you might find some inspiration for your type of style there. The decor is sleek while at the same time looking very comfortable. She uses a variety of woods along with some crushed velvets. The couches and other furnishings are inviting without being overdone. Take particular notice of her home theater: the fabrics, colors and shapes of the couches. This is not a decorating request this is a design plan request. You have a neutral environment so can go lots of ways to introduce color(or not)...post a floor plan with dimensions so you can get help with an exact layout. Also answer questions about TV here or not, how many in family to seat, do you entertain often? What type of storage do you need if you like built ins? I’d start with a rug selection to kick things off with finishes. But layout first and ‘decor’ last.
