Some questions about my Hoya obovata

As you can see, I let my hoya trail and grow how it will. I recently noticed the tip of one of the vines dying back, and I seem to recall reading somewhere that it can happen when they aren't trellised. Is that true? I plan to repot it later this spring and I'm wondering if I should add a trellis. If that's not the problem, what would cause this?

I also noticed a growth that I think is a peduncle, which has me very excited. I've had this plant for about a year and a half and this would be its first time blooming. Will repotting it affect its ability to bloom?

    Sometimes Hoya tips will die back like that, usually no big deal if it's just a single one. Normally I just clip off the dead end & it usually restarts. Nothing to be concerned about.

    Yes, that is a peduncle, congratulations! I believe repotting now will disrupt its blooming. I'd keep your care the same now & try not to change anything. Enjoy.

    ETA: Your plant looks very healthy, hope you'll share the blooms when it happens.
