I’m trying to fill out my perennial beds, and have had excellent wintersowing germination this year. I’ve sown quite a few new to me perennials, and I’m wondering how many of them I can hope to bloom this year, and how many I should not expect much from until the next few years? Last year my seeded agastache and gaillardia bloomed nicely, as well as a few others. Naturally the baptisia did not, and I don’t expect it to for many years. Thus, the baptisia is not in a prominent spot in the garden yet, while the gaillardia was focal point last year In late summer. That’s the main reason I’d like to know: whether I can count on them this year or plan for fill-ins. Obviously the biennials like foxglove and rose campion are not on this list. :)
