Main Front Room Layout Help!

I need some help with how to make this area look intentional and stunning when walking in from the front door. It’s a weird layout and I’ve tried to use the space the best way I know how but I could use some design help!!

Hello.

first I would remove the small rug, and couch from the room altogether.

Turn the dining table so it actually sits under the chandelier that is there.

Invest in a large rug to sit under the Dining table.

I would start with that.

Consider adding a buffet to the wall the couch is on, a longer lower piece by the front door.

Start with the piano; it is your most precious piece and needs explicit care to stay in peak performance.

Things that feel off to me:

The sofa doesn't appear to face anything. When do you sit on it? If it's meant to be seating to listen to the piano, it ends up facing the listener away. What's the room behind the piano? Is it something you go in and out of a lot, or could the seating area maybe move to around the piano with some chairs?

The rug next to the piano has no connection to anything. It feels like it's trying to create a zone in the room, but then nothing went into it, so the rug feels disconnected. It's almost part of the piano's space, but then it just kind-of ends up adjacent to the music zone not in it. It wants something to sit, at least partially, on it.

The dining area feels undefined. A rug, as suggested above, would help define it as it's own space.

Thank you for your ideas! So the room next to the piano is a bar that leads to the opening of the familroom and kitchen. One thing I should mention is that that whole area leads to another part of the house...office, laundry room and master. So a walkway has to be considered which is why the table is not under the chandelier. If we choose to keep the table there we will move the chandelier. I’m going to try and post a picture. I really do appreciate your ideas!!!! I need them!!!

This is the walk way from the kitchen and family room to the office etc. that’s why I can’t turn the table.

1) what appears to be your butler,s pantry is doing your great room no favors. If you’re up for some de/reconstruction I would consider getting rid of it. This would allow the piano area to be incorporated into your living area. It would allow for proper placement of sofa, coffee table and some chairs to be properly placed on an area rug.

otherwise, the only way the butler's pantry with its entrances and exits make sense is if you put your dining room where the piano is (where I believe it was originally intended to go) and place the piano in the current dining space. And whatever you do get rid of that pass through window from the BP to where your dining set is now.

2) your current chandelier, even if properly centered over your table is a) hanging way too high and b) is way to large in scale for your dining room table.
