White grout turning grey?

Amateur question here but is it possible for white grout to turn gray? Noticed after cleaning that instead of the white grout looking clean, it was gray in some spots, almost cement like. How would I go about fixing this? We have penny tiles so it’s really noticeable! Thanks for any advice.
