It comes from the Heidi and Charles Douglas garden - Brown' Ferry Garden. It is Heidi's introduction. They breed for hardy daylilies and the intros I have from them all perform well.

Very pretty although that lavender might turn mauve in my climate. I've seen many of Mr. Douglas and his other hybridizer friend Mr. Tanner produce some really pretty daylilies. My personal concern is the rust issue in their area. Hopefully their daylilies will make their way to rust free nurseries up north. Kudos to you Dick for scoring such a nice daylily........Maryl

No rust here. We did not have a very cold winter, though. Only a few days did it get much below 30.

Mantis, I am very glad to see you posting. We also had a very cold (for Alabama) early November, but near Christmas, it became unseasonably warm and hs stayed warmer than usual. Of course, we are supposed to get the typical freeze next week. Weather!

Some of the nurseries were open and I bought a few Zinnias and a Periwinkle not knowing how long they would remain open as the shut downs escalated. What do we get? A night time temperature of 36. It singed the leaves of both of these heat loving flowers. Next week another predicted cold front with temperatures in the mid to low 30's........ Then yesterday one of my daylily vendors tells me my plants were mailed Monday. Oh Joy.

As upsetting as a cold snap iswhich we are going to experience tomorrow , I am so surprised to hear zone 7 is getting the same thing as I am going to be getting . We are in for a cold snap tomorrow and the possibility of snow flurries on Friday . Somehow I had it in my mind that zone 7 and higher didn't get the same kind of cold as we get .So wondering what zone does not experience this kind of thing this late in the year. Zone 8? Zone 9'?

When I saw the title I laughed as we will experience some snow here in Upstate NY mixed in with the rain tomorrow. It is suppose to be spring....right?

Heather, Zone 8 is supposed to be having its' regular April freeze. Every year this happens. The difference is that it only lasts a short time, sometimes just a few hours.
