Indy was glorious today wasn't it?..every hosta that I checked in back has pips or leaves..I should take pics tomorrow..you know we're going to have cold temperatures in a few days 😪 ..your Lancifolia are so pretty..isn't it funny that Krossa Regal has purple pips?..your magnolia is beautiful..

I keep several bags of oak leaves in the spring, just to cover and protect the early risers from late frosts. I cover them with brown, dry oak leaves and then place a large lightweight pot over them, if the weather is not windy. When the weather is warm, I gently pull up and remove the large pot, scoop the leaves in the pot and store the pot of oak leaves in the shed for the next frost. After the last frost date has passed on the almanac (and if the forecast agrees), I put the emergency oak leaves in the yard waste bin for the city to pick up.
