Pintexerbloom seems to have pink stamens, while the swamp azalea has white/green stamens. I don't know the subspecies at all, but I hope that helps!

Thanks. I was rather confident it was a swamp azalea until I started realizing most sources said they don’t bloom till June.

That would have been my comment....seems much too early for swamp azalea to be blooming :-) If Rhododendron canescens is the same as Pinxterbloom, then I think you have hit it.
