Discoloration on Passiflora vine...

last modified: 6 years ago

This one of many new shoots on my Passiflora "Kew Gardens" (Passiflora x kewensis). The vine was never happy last year (1-3 hours of sun; had one bloom which quickly faded). I overwintered it in my greenhouse (effectively zone 10a + a lot more sun into the early afternoon) and the shoots have been growing like crazy. Though, this discoloration is new.

I did give it some tropical fertilizer higher in nitrogen & potassium. It really promoted growth but could it also be causing this? I also try to keep the soil watered fairly well since it's so actively growing (otherwise it looks dry & sad).

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance --
