Fruit & Orchards Garden Clinic

What is this on my mulberry?

This tree is 20+ ft tall and is loaded with fruit. These little bumps are hard, but easy to get off with our fingernail. What can I do about them?

and what are you really going to do about it.. on a 20 foot tree??? .. you will have to be rather good at spraying at height ... with a good hazmat suit on .. or hire it out ...

and you cant go all systemic killer on it.. because either you or the birds are going to eat the fruit ... gotta love those purple stains all over the car and house ...

hort oil will work ... but timing is imperative... babies will be crawling out from under dead momma .. and you have to hit them on the crawl .. before they get settled and get the hardened shell that protects them ...
