Definitely infested with a mildew

mildews can be caused by lack of air movement.. and lack of drying sun ... and one of the causes of that situation is that plants previously in full sun .. are now in shade due to trees getting larger ... pure speculation ...... [also by lawn irrigation at night and then the leaves stay wet all night]..... soooo....

could we have a pic of two of the plants in situ ... and where are you.. big city name ... we dont have any mildews right now in my MI .. and its supposed to snow tonight.. lol .. i bet you are in a bit warmer area ...

Thanks, Ken. Mildew does fit. This plant is in shade almost all of the day, though it always has been. I see that a baking soda/water spray may be an effective treatment.

I'm now near Asheville, NC, having moved from central Ohio to get. a more favorable climate, the lovely mountains, and the wildlife in our woodsy area. My lady partner, who also grew up and long lived in Ohio, complained about the ''gray flannel skies'' there. However, she's a rabid OSU fan and would say to a Michigander like you, GO BUCKEYES.
