These are a ake on what is called a "raised panel" design. In a standard 5-piece door construction, you would have a center panel floating in grooves created by rails and stiles which are the horizontal and vertical frame pieces around the edges. A true raised panel will have a center panel piece that lifts up above the level of rails and stiles. In many 5-piece door constructions seen today, the panel is the same level as the rails and stiles which helps with calculating door swing clearances. The more modern door styles have completely flat center panels. Your doors appear to be made all of one piece of wood by a machine knife that cut the simulated raised panel in one pass.

The question here is what is a number range for a budget you would have to address any changes? We could give you a lot of suggestions, but without knowing how much you wanted to spend, advice would not be as useful to you. There are a range of options.

What does the inside of the doors look like? Maybe you can turn them.

You can scratch through the finish on the back of a door to see what they're made of. I'm betting they're MDF. If so, the only realistic (not too expensive) fix-up is new doors and drawer fronts. You can get an idea for material costs on-line. There are vendors that sell doors custom made to size.

Partial overlay and those 1970’s hinges are very unlikely to be MDF. Not unheard of, but highly unlikely. The only way to know is to strip one door and see what you’ve got.

I took one of the doors off as suggested. This is the back where I stripped off the paint. They appear to be oak.
