Old Man Winter will not go away

Yesterday we awoke to 2 inches of snow but it melted by late afternoon. Today the weather forecasters are predicting more snow coming this afternoon into the evening. I think we will have another season of a quick spring. Many of the EV's and SEV's have turned to yellowy foliage but the Dormants were still looking very green but I'll see by the weekend if they got impacted by all this snow and very chilly temps.

My husband and I are staying healthy and I hope all of you are doing well too.

It has been cold here in central KY too,but no snow. Two hard frosts, though.

We are healthy too.

Julia, it’s snowing here right now, about 3”. It will be gone tomorrow, temperature will be 54 degrees. Happy spring..........

Another dip in temperatures tonight. Down to 33. Back inside go my poor early bought Zinnias.............. I thought of you Julia as our Governor just opened up hospitals for elective surgery. Hopefully your husband won't have too much longer to wait in your state........Bless all those who are affected by the virus. Maryl: Unfortunately with NY City having still so many new cases which impacts Upstate NY, the Governor has all of the state on a Stay At Home till mid May. It will be quite awhile yet before he gets scheduled for his surgery... sadly. Better to be safe than have the virus.

Sorry to hear that Julia. I talked to my dh's son in upstate New York, and I understand that NYC is the city that will dictate what happens in other parts of the state. It will be so nice when things get back to the new normal for everyone............Maryl

snowing here but it is so fine a flake that it looks more like fog than snow . Feeling bitterly cold because it is a damp cold and sun is hiding again today . I think we have seen the sun maybe 3 or 4 times since December ......I am aching for some sun light and some dirt under my fingers. The daffs and narcissus are up and in bloom but heads are nodding due to the cold .

Thought I had posted this yesterday . Discovered I did not . So posting it now but sunny today although still very very cold . so good to see the sun !

OK making sure I post this now ! DUH!

Some of my Hostas look awful and will have to start growing all over again. A few are just withered and one variety is just fine.The daylilies look great. The irises are having a hard time. The flower stems are drooping; fortunately many have not bloomed yet so they should be fine.

I am so sorry for the delay in the season and the late snows. We are not having snow, but bad weather with threats of tornados, hail and straight-line line winds. I just want April to be over, even though May is also a part of the tornado season here. I am tired of watching the radar for hours on end to see who is being hit this time and hoping it isn't us. Once again we are in the next to worst category for tomorrow beginning at 4:00 A.M.

I guess we all have to face problems of one sort of another, but I guess our perseverance is what makes us gardeners.
