Cute pup. A bother is better than a danger. :) As for the tree, it would be nice to see the trees leaves and someone ID it for you first. Personally I like the idea of keeping it especially if it's in good health/not a danger with falling limbs or anything.

I like your birdhouse idea although I've read that it's not healthy to the tree to attach birdboxe, still arguably better than removing the tree entirely. As for poison ivy, you can sever the root from the vine and keep doing that until it's weak and pull out the roots. That's how I've fought it in the past and won. Fortunately I don't get a terrible reaction (so far) that my husband gets if it accidentally touches my skin. Gauntlet gloves are very useful in this instance, not just for handling thorns.

It's an ash (Fraxinus). If it gets bored out by emerald ash borer at some point the decision will have been made for you.

Bird feeders attract all kinds of vermin and the rascal in the background will take all kinds of notice of that. Having Poisoned Ivy has nothing to do with whether the tree stays or goes.

for me the equation is simple ... if a tree is pissin me off.. its got to go ... no tree hugging allowed ...

and in response to such.. i will plant a couple new trees.. for the future ... mother earth profits ...

and i would probably plant some flowering trees... to add to the landscape ...

dont quite know where you are ... but i would consider a redbud for its early spring flower ...

i agree the PIvy has nothing to do with the decision on the tree ..

Thank you! I will keep the tre for one more year. There is no-one to come an cut it anyways now. Ill try the bird houses -the lock down here too. But for me it, it does not look pretty and does not add to the landscape. I would love some fruit trees instead.

I am not experienced in the landscape design, so I wanted to make sure that tree really does not look good, that I am not making a visual mistake so to say.
