Very easy to grow......I find them easier to grow than beardeds and I prefer them to beardeds as well :-) Sun or light shade and any sort of well drained garden soil. They do not require any more watering than most other perennials (although they will tolerate wetter conditions) and can be included in any mixed perennial border.
