do you have mulch??.. you could scratch around in it.. and see if you have any slugs ...

bottom line.. they are in slo motion.. and dont travel all that far when they are this cold ... so you arent going to get any travelers.. but if any are already there.. or eggs still ... you will eliminate them with extreme prejudice .. which is just fine for slugs...

I used vinegar last fall.

Be sure to drench the whole garden! I use ammonia.

I also use ammonia but the local dollar store only carries the yellow, lemon ammonia. You think it makes any difference?

I just used vinegar for wood chips walking paths, if it kills randome patch of grass there it will be a bonus.

I have lemon ammonia and will use it on the garden beds. Stores are open but they only letting so many people in at one time so it becomes too time consuming to look for regular ammonia.

How frequently one has to spray?

I def have slugs, have been hand picking them, did clean up last fall too but I leave a lot of leaves on the beds, and my walking paths are wood chips... slugs seems to like to sit under pots in moist areas now.

to kill slugs.. you have to have contact with the spray ..

the idea of the drench is that you can kill everything around the crown of the plant ...

if you spray.. you have to hit them ... you cant just spray mulch.. and hope for the best ... it cant hurt ... but who knows what its effectiveness might be ...

as the evenings warm.. and the become a bit more active .....either go out at dusk.. and shot for some ... or even on a rainy grey day ... trying to actually target them ...

i highly doubt the 10% is enough to kill weeds or grass .. but i never tested that opinion with reality ...

Ammonia is a fertilizer vinegar is a herbicide. I use diluted ammonia.
