Does the pot have a drain hole in it? If not - look there for your answer.

If the plant is wilted when the soil is still moist, it's almost always due to too much water and not enough air in the root zone. An adequate volume of air in the soil is as important as an adequate volume of water. Water uptake is an energy-driven process, and without oxygen enough to burn the food (stored sugar) that provides the plant energy, water movement can be impeded to the degree the plant can die of thirst while the roots languish in a sea of plenty.

Plus I believe this is an aucuba, which is a temperate evergreen shrub. It may not adapt well to life indoors (I don't actually know).
Likely humidity is too low and light is also too low (aside from watering issues).

It has opposite foliage so it's a Codiaeum aka Croton, not an Aucuba.

Is it? ok, its a good look alike for acuba. It looks alternate foliage to me, but aucuba is opposite as I recall.

Aucuba is definitely opposite and the OPs plant is definitely alternate. The leaves of the two can look very similar but the leaf arrangement doesn't lie.

My crotons seem to be water lovers -- even in winter. I suspect it's too dry, as long as it has good drainage.
