Nothing really beats the open burners that come with Bluestar's RNB and Platinum series. They are made for wok cooking. If you want anything better, you need to go with a commercial wok burner, but that runs into all sorts of building code issues. So, that's generally not an option for anything other than maybe an outdoor kitchen.

BlueStar is about as good as you can get for a residential unit. You’re not getting a 45K BTU burner. Or the issues that those come with.

The best wok cooking units that have the least effect on your budget are exterior propane fired single burner units. The type of BTU output on something like that can’t be equaled in a home without a commercial fire suppression system and massive make up air to go with the massive ventilation needed.
