This weed has this seed or thorn that are hurting my pets inbed in there feet and all over

Where are you? (state, nearest big city). What kind of area is this plant growing in - sun, shade, wet, dry, etc.?

I live is west Texas Lubbock area I live out of the city the plant grows in full sun and has really done very well all winter long. When you cut it all of those stickers are released and get on my pets

I googled Texas weeds, and Texas weeds with burrs, and couldn't match one up with what you've got. I recommend that you post this on the Texas forum, or the Southwest forum, if those are active. Failing that, you can send a picture of the weed to the county agricultural agency (https://lubbock.agrilife.org/ , at least, that's the only one I could find).
