What material was used to create the 3-sided black picture frame around the fireplace opening? Thanks!

    Yes...the horizontal boards are either ship lap or nickel gap boards. But I want to know the material that was used to frame the fireplace glass front. Building codes require the material around the fireplace opening to be made from non-combustible material. It looks like painted wood which is combustible.
