I am debating on painting the woodwork in our family room.

I don't want to paint the kitchen cabinets and I didn't know if it would look odd, to have painted woodwork in the family room and not in the kitchen. Our dining and living room have painted woodwork. Help, it is a project we are wanting to start in the fall.
