Oh my gosh... I soooo wish I could... but my yard is extremely saturated after last nights and this morning rain... with plenty more to come.

Having the humans confined has been good for the earth - the air is cleaner, the sea turtles are nesting in higher numbers than past years and the wildlife has been sighted in all kinds of unlikely places. Happy Earth Day!

I remember the first Earth Day. I had a button with a the original insignia . It was a big deal in Philadelphia with a concert featuring well known musicians. Ironically, people were wearing face masks! I remember participating. Going out to hug a tree now. First Dart Day

I did my planting earlier. I actually plant a new tree (Chinese Fringe Tree or also known as Grancy Gray Beard) earlier in the year. I've worked earlier this past weekend and earlier in the week and have my veggie seedlings planted and mulched now plus seeds sown for beans, sunflowers, zinnias and some free wildflowers from a free packet I received.

Our city gives away saplings every year for Earth day. Today they did it a little differently for contact-free, but we got ours! We don't take one every year, but I picked one up today.

The only good thing about this virus is the earth and it's other creatures are getting a break from us humans.

Tonight's Chicago Tribune has a story about Jane Goodall. She hopes that young people who are now seeing clearer air for the first time..even stars at night...will want to keep saving the Earth.

Seeing how many young people don't seem to be concerned about saving their fellow humans from Corvid . . . I'm becoming cynical, I guess.

The science teacher always gets saplings for anyone who will plant them..not this year...I am bummed!!
