Limewash the brick as they have done for centuries in Europe.

Remove all the plants in front of the porch and the edging. I would install an island bed further out in the yard. You don't need a handrail. Embrace the arches. If you can paint the window frames the same color as the red trim.

Move the palms, keep the "poodle" trees, add a patio...This is a really rough sketch, but gives the idea...

I like the topiary trees and the palms... but I don't think them there like that is doing your lovely porch any favors. The palms for for sure overwhelming the spaces.

What do you want out of your porch? Simple curb appeal? Somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the porch? Want more than just porch and would like some patio? Or just want nice garden? Landscaped, flowers, veggies or herbs perhaps?

I like how celerygirls mockup has the porch enclosed- screened or glass, an enclosed porch can be nice to desirable depending on where you live and otherwise want to use that space.

I think the single most important thing is to open up the first arch that leads to the door.

I would also make the gutter much lighter.

Do you like the palms?

If you agree that all the plant material needs to be removed, remove it and then take the picture. Line up with the center of the house, from no farther distance away, and then take a panorama that includes surrounding space beyond the building ends. If you don't have a panoramic feature on your camera, stand at one space and take slightly overlapping pictures while you pivot.
