Basement window frame

I'm not quite sure what type of window this is (fin, finless, pocket, etc...). It's held in place with retaining strips on all 4 sides (not a single screw attaching it). The rough opening, or frame, is a cast in place galvanized frame. Looking for replacement options and how to finish it off without have to tear everything apart just to get to these strips for removing the window.

How about a picture from a bit further back as well as one with the sash open if it is a venting unit?

I would still like to see some screws through the jamb into the galvanized frame that was for the foundation pour.

Trimming that out would just be some drywall or wood jamb extensions that will return to either a trim detail or the finished wall edge. You finishing out the basement?

What part of the world are you in? You might want to look into creating some sort of thermal break on that metal tray around the window. Otherwise you are going to have a condensation spot if you are in a colder climate.

That's what i'm confused about. There are no screws in the jamb, or the window. The jamb was poured in place (encased in concrete), and the window is held in with strips on all 4 sides. It's not very secure and has some movement to it. I'm in colorado (denver area), so winter can get cold at times. I purchased the house a few years ago. They started to frame the exterior walls of the basement and stopped for some reason. I would like to replace the windows before finishing, and I can even find the types of windows that are installed. It's not a nail fin, finless or pocket window. Here are pictures of the jamb and exterior of the window.

Thanks for the tip on trimming it out. I imagined that's what I would need to do, but once I trim it out, I won't be able to remove the window because the 4 strips holding the window in will be covered, forcing me to remove everything.

You can always remove it. Sawzall will get anything out. I would counter sink some holes in the side and throw some screw (sheet metal or concrete) into the jamb. Some sealant and/or foam will lock it down better as well. Appears to be a flange type front that drops from outside to in and is then locked in place by the clip in flange. Interesting design. Pull the clips, one at a time, and install some sealant between the window frame and the galvanized buck frame. If the gap is larger, foam it. That will lock it down against moving around a bit. Be sure to shim up the bottom if it can move around so that the window can drain that buck frame out.
