They have the peel on tile that is cheap

I think that painting is the cheapest and easiest thing to do.

You have what looks like a 4 inch granite splash so the tile above shouldn't even be there. You either run the tile all the way down to the counter, or you just have the 4 inch splash. You can remove the tile you don't like and just repair and paint the wall.

When you are ready to redo it, make sure you also remove the 4" granite backsplash before you put in new tile.

Cheap fix...install grey mirror over the tile. It will reflect the under cabinet lighting nicely!

You have the belt and suspenders look with two backsplashes.

Remove the tile, use joint compound to smooth the wall behind it, then paint the wall.

Could just put peel and stick backsplash over it.

If you hate it there's nothing to lose by painting it with epoxy paint. Then you would only have the texture of the tile pattern. Appliance spray paint is cheap. Could you get a color match to the cabinets and paint beadboard to cover it? covering it will be easier than replacing it. What about that peel and stick stainless steel or faux pressed tin?

I don’t think the peel and stick will work bc of the raised pattern :-/ I’m curious what these gray mirrors look like.

They’re mirrors that are tinted grey, or other colors but the grey tint takes the brightness out and gives a softer look. They’d go great with the dark countertops and though it would look better without the backsplash, IMO, you could just place them on top of the backsplash. I love the ones I have in my kitchen!

Lidia that sounds very interesting. Do you have a photo of the backsplash in your kitchen?

It doesn't matter that I like it, except maybe to prove it's not the worst ever. It has light, medium, dark tones / seems the color of the knobs...? It adds interest, like a necklace or belt would - I like my analogy.

In YouTube videos, peel and stick doesn’t look like a thin sticker. It looks more like a hard square with a sticky backing. Might be worth taking look in person the next time you go to Home Depot.
