What incredible roses! They literally made me gasp when I saw your photo. They’re almost too beautiful to be real! I’m not real happy about our heatwave, either. Blooms that I’ve been waiting on for weeks are opening and blown in a day or two. I cut some, but not enough. Alnwick Rose blooms really despise this kind of heat. I’m glad you got those inside. Thank you for the lovely comment! JC is one of my top 2 roses. It’s fragrance is lemon verbena and so romantic in growth habit, it’s just very pouty in heat! I’ve got more than twenty buds on the bush and hope it will cool down!

That is breathtakingly beautiful! I have so few Austins that I'm always amazed at how gorgeous many of them are. To me his pink roses are especially sumptuous, and your bouquet certainly bears that out. On the other hand I'm glad I have Evelyn in my heat trap of a garden since it supposedly does better with higher temps.

JJ, that‘s beautiful! You showed a perfect example how to display nodded roses in a vase by selecting a tall vase then have the blooms rested at the opening of the vase and not higher. Two David Austin roses which are perfect for this type of display is Spirit of Freedom and Jubilee Celebration. Helen

Helen, thank you for your comment on the vase type...I love nodding roses, but it was so challenging in the beginning on finding the right vase. This is actually a very tall glass with a non-fluted lip. One thing I like about JC for cutting is that the roses have very long thornless stems. The leaves will catch you but smooth stems are so nice for arrangement!
