Hello!

I am about to rent an upper floor in a house. The house has a staircase very similar like the one on the photo below. A wall next to it so you can't see much neither up nor down. After you go up the staircase, you arrive directly into my living room, there is no door nor any possibility to get one. The entrance is about 4'3" wide. I'd like to set something up that divides the stairs from the living room, for privacy and preferrably noise cancellation. I am willing to hear any advice. This will be my first time living alone so I'm not used to decorating.
