Which fence did you get installed?

I got the cedar fence done, took out the chain link

I am guessing you have either a dog or children that play in the front yard, or both.

Adding to that I would paint your front door your favorite color, low flowering shrubs in front of the fence. Larger black Lanterns by the front door.

Yes, I have kids and a dog :) I was also thinking of staining the fence white. And maybe that will make it flow better?

I happen to like the iron posts. I would paint them a glossy black to make the virtually disappear. Don't paint the fence, which is gorgeous, apply a cedar stain.

I'd go with white columns. Love the fence!

White columns or painting the fence

i love the cedar posts. But, you have nothing to lose by painting the metal ones. Rustoleum spray paint has a very nice looking gray enamel. would match your siding color. Get a can of that and spray it to see how it looks.

don't paint the cedar. however, get the Penofin marine oil in the cedar finish and apply it to the wood to protect it. otherwise it will turn a blah gray in a year.

and yes, paint your front door a black, or yellow or something.

This is the color I got for the door! I could keep the iron columns to keep my costs down, just wanting them to kind of not stick out so much. They look dainty and just not my style. Under the white they're black, I’m pressure washing my porch this weekend to get the paint off that and I was thinking of pressure washing the white off the columns too

They should be black. They will look a lot better. Love the yellow.

You think the iron posts things should be black? That’s what I’m thinking too. I think they are hideous, but I always wonder if when I sell later down the line, if someone would actually appreciate them. I would just rather them not be so obvious to me. Lol

paint them the same color as the siding. maybe a tad darker. you don't want to call attention to them, but rather blend in w/the background (which would be your house color)

That's why I mentioned the Rustoleum dark gray enamel. Try one in the gray and one in the black. see what you like best.
