Clematis armandii. Come and gone in March. Now it is the montanas and the atragenes. I have several of the LFH's budding up but none that has opened.

Yes, the newer blooms have it and then they fade to white as they age. I’m so excited for clematis season. It’s my “leap” year and I have very high expectations!

Actually I made a mistake. The first dark purple clem I posted with the white reverse is Rhapsody.

Kasugai was blooming at the same time but the petals are double.

Deborah, I have this one too. I’ve been wanting to talk about it with somebody. Doesn’t it have the best color??? Looks like rich velvet to me, I am so incredibly impressed with the tone of this clematis.

Our steelers, your clareClare de lune looks deeper colors than mine in deep shade. I never see that bourbon color stripe. Very pretty.

Totoro, my Claire de Lune is in part shade(I swear, all my yard is part shade ☹️) but lately I’ve been thinking it might be a mislabel... the pictures I’ve looked at lead me to believe it might be First Lady. What do you think?

Such beautiful clematis. I love vines, they give such a cozy feeling to the garden.

Chris Smith. I like the way Nelly's white edges are catching the light there. Makes me think about putting such a clematis where it will have nice side lighting like that.
