I am going to refinish a butcherblock countertop and am considering a matte epoxy clearcoat, as an improvement over the polyurethane, which wears fairly poorly in the busy kitchen. The rub is that the 4" backsplash matches the countertop and should obviously be finished to match. Best practice is to remove the backsplash, but that's not an option on this project. I found a couple guys who claim to have epoxied backspalshs in place, but am not fully convinced. Has anyone successfully expoxied a backsplash in place? Should I just epoxy the countertop and skip the backsplash? Or skip epoxy altogether on this one?Thanks in advance!
