Thank you for the compliment. I feel like until i have found the right curtain thats the only way it will be complete. Did i do my prints mixing correct or too much? And adding the mustard lumbar on the slipper chairs to break the foliage pattern or should i use a rustic orange color for the lumbar instead? I feel that the chairs makes my job more difficult due to its print and color:-(

It's always difficult to tell colors online, but from what I can see, the chairs look like more of a raspberry red shade and an off white. I think I would work to pick the red shade from the chairs as the accent color instead of the orange, to pull the room colors together a bit more.

The colour palette is gorgeous and you can play around with the pillows. The poof looks lonely! Although the gray pillows on sofa are large, try swapping them to the chairs and the orange vice versa.
Simple gray drapes is all that is needed to complete the look

I agree with collettec...the pic currently looks like you have red, orange and mustard accents.

Kathleen yes i have red (burgundy), orange, and mustard. Just trying things out especially the mustard to bring out the best of what i want with the limitation of the chairs that i pre purchase along time go.

I think you are mixing dull accent colors with brights and it just won't work. I'd get rid of the dull pillows on the couch and the dull peach ottoman, move the bright orangey pillows to the couch or get a red color of pillows to put on the couch to match the chairs. I agree with Chemayne to get plain grey curtains for the Windows. Get the same color of red for accent pieces like a vase for instance to carry the bolder color throughout the room. Add a work of original art, they are not as expensive as many think! "Real art" by real artists is a wonderful thing. Put it on the wall opposite the mirror so you can see it from the couch. Enjoy!

red of the chairs with the yellow pillows is making a more "primary colors" statment than the muted tones of the sofa pillows. You may have to pick one or the other or somehow get some of the bolder colors over to the sofa as well.

To me the colors you want are not tying together. It looks you are going in one direction on sofa and another direction with the chairs.

The chairs have the look and feel of dining chairs which is possibly why this room doesn't feel quite right. I would eliminate the gray cushions that match the sofa, add more orange over there as well as the mirror which seems to repeat the window. Artwork would be much better. Maria

Yes theres a big pillow that came in free with the couch and i am following Maria's suggestion to remove it. Eye sore:-)

I love the sofa, patterned pillows on the sofa, wall color, coffee table, throw, and pouf (with its matching pillow on the sofa). I don't like the chair color or mustard pillows (in that room), but I think they're nice and could work well elsewhere. I think the chairs in this room should be a much earthier rust color. I like the idea of grey drapes too.

I might end up getting the chairs re upholster instead! It bugs me now. Any suggestion to achieve the rustic look of the room? Or what color combination should i use to achieve the look that i want? Obviously the sofa and coffee table is a keeper...

Here it is without the pillow that matches the couch. It made a difference, now i just need to get a smaller plain orange pillows and worry the slipper chairs.

noreenborja, I would pick 3-5 colors and repeat them throughout your room. I could see leather side chairs. Something in gray or dark brown.

If you get the chairs redone, look for fabric with the color of the throw - that color is great for your look.

Hi Noreen-I think this room reflects wonderful taste. We have a similar dilemma in our living room. I think just keep playing around with different textures and colors. Rooms are always works in progress. I've stopped thinking that things will ever be "done". Perhaps if the poof were a more distinct tone--and the pillows on the couch were too. But really, seriously, it's beautiful the way it is. It will evolve naturally over time.

The room is looking fabulous. Do you sew or know someone who does, then perhaps you could slip-cover the slipper chairs, using your preferred fabric.

Your basic furniture is great. I suggest putting solid cream colored pillows on the couch that match the cream in the chairs. That will bring them together and add brightness to the couch. The chairs don't need pillows at all. I'm not sure the purpose for an ottoman. The color doesn't seem to blend with the rest of the furniture. If you have extra money you might want to update the coffee table and end table. Pier One has a wooden base for the coffee table and it is only 99.00. Also you can purchase the end table to match. I would then put the new end table between the 2 chairs and place the gray table somewhere else in your house. Also try using a taller lamp on the end table. If money is a concern you can find really nice lamps at Goodwill or consignment shops.

I think your room is lovely, very soothing. What would you think about throwing in a bit of sage green/blue in the pillows or window treatments? I attached a photo just so you could see what sage looks like with orange, it also looks great with red.

I think cindinfocus nailed the issue when she mentioned trying to combine bright accents with muted earthy accents. Either direction would work, but not both at the same time. It sounds like noreenborja would prefer the "earthy" direction. I'm surprised that a couple people are mentioning adding sage green. I just don't think that works very well with the sofa color.
