Exterior brick help!

Hello! I need help deciding on an exterior brick. We can’t do painted white or anything too white, and I’m also not allowed to do stucco. Anyone have any suggestions? I love the French country look and would do white mortar. My brick options are acme, meridian and triangle. Please don’t laugh at my drawing! Also, would you do white or black windows. I was leaning white bc it’s less trendy...but my picture has black because white didn’t shape up :)

What about if I do a brick similar to this?

I like French Country too, but I would make the massing of the home more French Country, because what you have so far isn't.

I like brick too, it needs repainting every 200 years or so.

Unfortunately I can’t change the outside - I would love to, but our builder won’t allow it. :/

I am currently obsessing over Exterior brick choices and also love the French country/Acadian style and look. I really like Logan Canyon and there is a gorgeous account on IG called OurDellHouse that almost had me sold on it. But, I am currently leaning toward a brownish Meridian brick called Bingham Canyon that has a tumbled look ivory mortar as I think it might be more classic. Planning on darker shutters- charcoal or navy. It‘s way better looking at my local store than on their website IMO.

Ooooh I was looking at Meridian today! Let me check that one out as well!

Are tan windows a choice? Or, bronze? I know you asked about brick but thought I'd make a suggestion on windows because I don't think white or black are a good choice in this case, with the brick style you are going for. I'd go tan or bronze on the windows, if at all possible.

We can do an almond color but then they are almond on the inside as well - which I don’t love since all my walls will be white.

I think white will have longer lasting time as bronze and black seems to have periods of when they are popular. that said I think any will look good. I would contact your local supplier of the brick and ask for locations to see it in person once you find some you like.

I agree, white does seem to be the safer choice. I’m just worried that it might look too bright for the colors I’m leaning towards. I wish I had the ability to actually draw it out with the brick and windows and shutters I’m looking at!

Well if you’re able to see the brick on houses you can also see what color window they used

Everyone is Houston seems to use the standard almond color - it’s the cheapest option for builders and most people don’t seem to contemplate window color when building in these planned communities!

Sounds like you are working with a production builder. Are any of the combinations you are contemplating showing up on finished homes yet? Drive the neighborhood to see the combos since your builder won't allow changes to the exterior other than their standard selections (normal for production builders). To see it in person is your best alternative.

What did you end up doing?? Would love to see a picture. I ordered Acme’s White Bluff brick this morning.
